Louth, our Gullion's Garlic is a blend of fresh chilli peppers, Irish carrots, Irish garlic (when in season), Irish onions, and Oriel sea salt. This is a medium heat sauce that relies on great ingredients and an expert blend of peppers for a premium tasting chilli sauce that goes well with everything.

Tasting Notes

Gullion’s Garlic has a fresh hot bite with a lovely deep taste of fresh garlic. A medium hot sauce by most people’s standards, but the garlic makes it feel hotter. Gullion’s Garlic is the perfect balance of flavour and intense heat with added aroma from the garlic and onions.

The Story of Gullion’s Garlic

The story of Gullion’s Garlic is really the story of Gullion’s Fire as we made Fire with the intention of adding garlic to the basic recipe. However, it was so good we decided to leave it alone and create a separate Garlic version.

Our “Gullion’s” sauces are named after the mythical giant Gullion, the alter ego of a dormant volcano in County Armagh. In spring we sometimes make Gullion’s Garlic using wild Irish garlic that grows on the lower slopes of Slieve Gullion. At other times of the year we use Irish, Spanish, or Chinese garlic depending on availability and the taste does vary as a result.

Using Gullion’s Garlic

Try it as a sauce – on burgers, chops, salads, kebabs, BBQ meats, chips, pizzas, or baked potatoes. Try it as a cooking ingredient – in curries, chilli con carne, lasagne, fried rice, stir fries, and marinades. Try it as a salad dressing – mix it with olive oil, natural yoghurt, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, or lemon juice.
